Mike Maloney

Over the past 20 years, I’ve helped build the public profiles of dozens of high-growth technology startups and global brands such as Underwriters Laboratories (UL), NEC Technologies, Sierra Wireless, Oracle, Corel, Rdio and SMART Technologies to name a few.

With an extensive track record in driving publicity campaigns in both Canada and the US, there’s a good chance you've seen some of my work. Over the years I’ve launched everything from wireless computers and fingerprint identification systems to global art and music apps and household office productivity software. And my clients have been featured in TechCrunch, The New York Times, the Wall Street Journal and virtually every major TV network across North America.

After years working across Canada and the US, I’ve since made the trek back to Nova Scotia by way of California, where I was the PR Director for a publicly traded Web 2.0 startup in Orange County California that successfully competed with the likes of Facebook, Shutterfly and Flickr before being purchased by a major search engine.

Prior to rolling my sleeves up in the startup world, I served as a hired gun for clients and agencies in Toronto, Washington DC and Orange County, CA. Currently based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, I hold a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of New Brunswick and a Bachelor of Public Relations from Mount Saint Vincent University.

Companies (particularly in the tech industry) who are looking to increase their profile in highly influential media in both Canada and the US.

Honoured with the 2014 Gold Quill Crisis Communications Award from the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) for work with the Nova Scotia Liquor Corporation, beating out competition from across Canada, the US and Asia.
