I have been creating illustrations to accompany stories, articles, ideas, products and campaigns for as long as I can remember; probably close to thirty years. Trained in the fine arts and later in communication and design at The Ontario College of Art and Design I put my talents to work for many of the ad agencies and magazines big and small in my home town of Toronto. About fifteen years ago I embraced the digital age and learned to create my artwork in Photoshop and Illustrator. This also opened up the borders to the rest of the world and I now do work for clients as far flung as Australia, America and Europe. My imagery is basically realistic with a painterly look. I gravitate towards the visual surprise using metaphors and analogies and nothing makes me more excited than rendering characters both human and animal in the midst of expressing emotions and reacting to situations. Please enjoy reviewing my work.
John's BEST FIT
My ideal client is an individual or company representative who is searching for innovative and eye-catching images to promote their product or service, explain how something works, accompany and back up an article or just tell a story. I work well on a creative team and I am at my best when given responsibility and creative license.
