Eric Wood

My clients call me names behind my back.

Names like “wordsmith”, “simplifier”, “value-laden” or “trusted advisor”. Or even “the glue that holds our marketing together”. I don’t mind, really. Those names will never hurt me. In fact they’ve helped me a great deal.

I’m a copywriter who started out as a graphic designer, spending my first 30 years in advertising and design shops, most of that in firms that I co-founded and co-managed —Page&Wood and Trampoline. I’ve been copywriting for over 20 years and freelancing since 2008 as Eric Wood Marketing Inc. I’m told I’m very strong on account service, creative direction and copy writing. I’ve worked on a lot of technical accounts and enjoy the detail and challenges they bring. I love humour and clever turns of phrases when they work well, but I’m not afraid of long form copywiting and SEO-keyword-intensive website content. I do a lot of e-newsletters, as well.

I split my time between my home office in Hubbards, Nova Scotia and re[group] — a collaborative workspace I set up in Halifax’s historic Hydrostone Market in 2010. I also have a boardroom meeting space available there.
