eric alper

I'm Eric Alper. Yes...That Eric Alper.

I am not used to routine, which is how i like it. As a weasel, a flack, an officer to the press, a director, a dictator, a Coke and Chips for breakfast, and dinner for lunch kind of guy, I think I can be forgiven, by 10:00am, if I have felt I had too much to dream last night.

I've had a life-long passion of promoting the music industry for one reason - I love it. The love that I have for music is in my blood. My grandfather, Al, opened the doors of the iconic Grossman's Tavern, Toronto's first licensed blues bar, in 1943. As a young boy, I understood that the love of live music and the essential socializing that goes with it, is universal. Career wise, I started with the Smithsonian Folkways label, which was the beginning and the end game for me during my teenage years. Armed with a sense of fun and a never-ending love of both the myth and the actual history, I was proud to represent the label for many years, alongisde some of the greatest record companies of all time - Artemis Records, Relapse Records, Revenant Records, Signature Sounds, Compass Records, and so many more.

I'm a fan-first kind of guy, and my belief that people live to consume music was further cemented by attending countless live shows. I have built my career connecting people to the joy of music in all its forms. I have been at the forefront of the Canadian entertainment industry, making the Public in Public Relations my business. I naturally gravitated towards the Relations as I built my career upon the quality of the relationships that I've nurtured over the years - creating them, cultivating and maintaining them, growing, and keeping them.

From basic strategies to major campaigns; from bio construction to news launches; from press conferences to all-out social media blitzes - I apply all the advantages of my seasoned professional experience to my clients on a daily basis. Otherwise, you'll find me - literally - out where the music is. Because that's where I love to be.
